| The Deep End of the Ocean
|
The Deep End of the Ocean (1999) Ryan Merriman stars as Sam Karras/Ben Cappadora, a boy who was kidnapped at 5 years old. Almost 10 years later, older Ben, now 14 years old, lives in the same neighborhood as his real family. An on-again, off-again relationship develops with his real family as Sam/Ben is torn between identities. He desires a relationship with his brother Vincent (Jonathan Jackson), who still harbors guilt over allowing young Ben to get lost. This touching story is brilliantly acted by all, but I think the real key to this movie is how Ryan charmingly makes his character believable.
